Irish Absolutely is a non-political, non-denominational, organization based in North America and owned and managed by emigrants from Ireland. Although we left some years ago, a big part of our hearts is still in Ireland. Despite receiving a very warm welcome in our new adopted country, something urges us to go back to visit old friends and family as often as possible. Irish Absolutely's purpose is to foster an on-going interest in Ireland and all good things Irish. Our support of charities is also of fundamental importance to us. We will continue to expand our line of unique and innovative gifts that are truly innovative and different. And, since we believe that it is important that all gifts bring a joyous smile to your face, our gifts have a decided emphasis on being fun! Since many of our gifts are individually and painstakingly hand crafted by highly skilled artisans, they can only be created in small numbers. Consequently there is always a risk that any particular item may not last long once it appears on our site. Therefore, if you would like to subscribe to our periodic newsletter, we will add you to our list. How we Support Charities
Irish Absolutely donates 5% of all sales revenue to charity. The reason for doing so is simple enough. We are not starving. We have enough to eat and access to clean drinking water is not a problem. But that is not true in many parts of the world, especially where wars, drought and famine bring death, destruction and unbelievable misery to so many. We can't fix political issues in far away places, but we can do something positive about bringing food and water.
The Irish over the centuries have established a long record of bringing comfort and relief to the less fortunate, especially in more distant lands. It is impossible to create political stability when the people are starving. That's why we believe it is vital to start with food and water first. Our contribution may not be much, but it is something. Better to help save some, than to do nothing while lamenting about not being able to bring help to all.
We see these contributions not as coming from us, but from you, our customers and friends. So when you decide to own one of our Irish gifts, you are continuing the Irish tradition of bringing comfort not just in spirit but in kind, through your direct, tangible contribution. While those you help may never know your name, they will for ever be grateful that you cared enough to help.
