1. A ceramic Irish Cottage sitting on its own ceramic base. Including the base, it is about 3.5 inches wide, 2.5 inches deep and overall about 3 inches high. I know, I know, it is small and is really designed to sleep only 4, although you could sleep 6 'little' people at a pinch. After all, it is an Irish cottage, so of course it is intended for the "wee" folk!
2. So you don't freeze to death, especially at night when the damp can get into your bones, you will need turf for your cottage fireplace. So we have included a complete load of about 6 logs. As each of them burn for about 25 minutes, this will keep you warm and cozy for quite a while. As the smoke winds its way up your cottage chimney, you will experience the unique charm and unmistakable aroma of genuine Irish turf. A word of warning: if, at the same time, you put on some good Irish music, the combination of sound and aroma will bring tears to your eyes! If this happens, sure you can always blame the smoke for your tears, just as the Irish have done for generations.
3. There is a practical side to it of course, but also for the fun of it, we have included an "Owner's Operating and Maintenance Manual"! Answers all the questions you could possibly have about owning and maintaining your Irish cottage!
4. We also include a booklet written especially for us by Niall Flanagan called "The Romance of Irish Stone Cottages and Turf Fires". This provides a revealing insight into Irish folk lore, as well as an explanation on the importance of turf fires in Ireland.
5. Every now and again you will need to do a little spring cleaning, so we have included one of Evin's official chimney brushes. (You will meet Evin when you read Niall's booklet).
6. You know you have always wanted a little get-away cottage, so what better place to have one than Ireland! Each cottage is identified with a unique code which you will find under its base. We encourage you to register your cottage on-line at our site. Or, if you prefer, you can fax or mail the form that is included in the package. You will then become a Member in Good Standing of the Irish Absolute Cottager's Club. We have some interesting plans for the Club for the near future.
7. When you register your cottage you will be invited to personalize your cottage by deciding what you want to call it and where it is located. Then, knowing your particular wishes, we will send you - at no charge of course - an official Deed of Ownership. Your Deed, personalized just for your cottage, is printed on high quality stock ready for immediate framing, signed by a member of the Board of Directors and embossed with the official Cottager's Seal. When you receive your Deed in the mail, then you really know the cottage is yours and your dream has come true!
8. Finally, just to keep the fun going - we did say this was a gift that would be remembered - we will send you a personalized gift which will be based on the name and address you choose for your Irish cottage, so be creative! Although it can be, it doesn't have to be a real place, so we encourage you to let your imagination run riot and chose a really romantic location! Your gift will arrive by mail with your Deed. All at absolutely no charge!
