Irish Story Contest

The reason behind our story competition is to give our loyal supporters an opportunity to be creative and, at the same time, share a bit of fun with our other site visitors. You probably already realize that the aim of our site is strongly based on sharing some humor while raising support for our charities.

Wow! We had a total of 46 stories entered in our story contest! Some were in the form of poems. Some were truly funny. Some brought smiles of sympathetic understanding. Some tugged at the heart strings and some were so touching that they brought tears to our eyes. All in just 49 words! When we announced the story contest we didn't know what to expect. Were we ever impressed!

Then came the task of selecting a winner. Frankly, the entries were so different, we found it overwhelming. After much deliberation, we selected 8 candidates. Then after further discussion we narrowed it down to three finalists. But because the standard was so high, we simply couldn't agree on which was the best. So we ended up drawing for the winner. We hope all of you that sent in such great stories understand.

So, without further ado, the Winner of our First Short Story Contest and recipient of our $100 prize, is....drum roll please....VERONICA!

There were a total of 13 entries for our second story contest, the lower number possibly reflecting that Christmas is a very busy time for everybody. The stories continued the high quality and variety tradition established with the first contest. And, like last time, they presented us with the difficult task of selecting a winner. But just because it was hard didn't mean we could shirk our responsibilities. So, with much pleasure we welcome RODNEY to the winner's circle! Congratulations!
